How to do this domain parking?

It is a pretty simple task to park your domains.

  1. Find a domain you already have or register one that is really going to be a winner.
  2. Choose which site is going to park your domain at. Do your reasearch here because not all domain parkers are equal. Godaddy.com is actually charging you to park your domain name! Since godaddy automatically parks your domain name and makes the money off of it if you don't point the dns somwhere they must figure they are losing money if you park it and want to charge you for this service. Crazy!
  3. Create some keyords for your parked domain. Most free parking solutions allow you to pick a template and add some meta data for the search engines. Make sure you do this.
  4. Kick back and watch the pennies roll in. You may not get rich right off the bat or ever really, but the general feeling is if you can make the registration money out of a domain, about 7.95 a year, you are getting the domain for free. If you can make a few extra bucks great.

Revenue sharing from a parked domain works by traffic being directed to a search page or pay per click page where any visitors to your parked domain may click on the ads and you receive a percentage of the revenue from this.

Some sites that offer domain parking

These sites will host park your domain for "free" and take a cut.

Most of the domain parking services are taking a cut of your advertising dollar but one of the benefits is you dont have to be a web developer to put content on your domain. The parking compnay puts links and graphics in the page for you. Honestly if you can roll out sites fairly quickly you are able to make more money developing you domain yourself but if you don't have the time or ability parking may be for you.

Unless you have a popular domain name it probably isn't worth the effort to use a revenue sharing parking service. Unless you want the Registrars making your money. Best option is develop the site and server ads yourself.

What is domain kiting?

firefoxThe tasting technique was modified by some to constitute domain kiting, a term coined by Bob Parsons owner and ceo of godaddy.com. Kiting basically works the same as tasting with the added twist that the tasted name is automatically re-registered to reset the grace period clock. Toss is a bunch of crummy info in WHOIS data and the taster is basically confident and secure in this new scheme..
